Phone FAQ's

What is the difference between Business Lines and Centrex Lines?
With a Business Line, you are able to simply pick up the telephone and dial a number. With a Centrex Line, you must first dial "9" to get and outside line before dialing a number. Telephone features on Business Line must be ordered a la carte. Centrex Lines include Call Forwarding, Call Transfer, and Three-Way Calling on each line. There is also a minimum number of lines required for Centrex... WOW! Business Solutions's minimum is six lines. There is no minimum number of lines required for Business Lines.

How do I find out about advertising my company in the Yellow Pages and the White Pages?
You can check your local phone book for Yellow Pages advertising information. WOW! Business Solutions does not publish a telephone directory. When you choose WOW! Business Solutions as your telephone provider, your information will still appear in the Red Pages of the local phone directory, unless you specifically request a non-published or non-listed directory number.

Does WOW! Business Solutions sell telephone systems?
No. At this time, WOW! Business Solutions does not provide telephony hardware. We will be happy to provide a listing of local vendors that can provide telephone hardware and inside wiring services.

Call Forwarding
Lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *72 and then listen for 4 short beeps. Enter the phone number you wish to call (1 + area code if long distance). When the other party answers, the call forwarding is put into effect. Call forwarding will not be activated if there is no answer on the phone number dialed. To cancel this feature press *73 from your phone.

Caller ID for Call Waiting
When you’re on the phone and another call comes in, Caller ID for Call Waiting will allow you to see who is trying to reach you. It displays in the same way you would see an identifier for a caller if the phone were not being used. Results of this feature may vary depending on the type of Caller ID equipment you own.

Three Way Calling
While on the original call, press and release the switchhook. You will hear a dial tone. Enter the phone number of the 3rd party you are trying to reach (long distance charges apply if you are calling a long distance number). When the 3rd party answers, you may bring the original caller on the line by pressing the switchhook again. To disconnect the 3rd party, press and release the switchhook twice. You will now have the original party on the line. To disconnect completely, simply hang up.

Call Waiting
Listen for a beep tone while you are on a call. Once you hear the beep tone, press and release the switchook to connect to the second caller. Press and release the switchook once more to connect to the original caller.

Directory Assistance
When a telephone number is not listed in the phone book, you can call 1411 for directory assistance.
