
Accessing WOW! Newsgroups:
WOW! offers excellent Usenet newsgroups service (through Giganews) to customers who subscribe to its high speed cable modem service or dial up service. Customers can access newsgroups with any news reader that they choose. Newsgroup access is very simple and straightforward to set up. There are only a few things to remember:
- WOW!'s newsgroups server is news.sigecom.net.
- No username or password is needed to login
- Access to WOW!'s newsgroups is only available from WOW! subnets. Customers will not be able access WOW!'s newsgroups while connecting from other ISPs or networks
- Users can have a maximum of 4 active connections to the newsgroup server at one time. Each connection offers a connection speed of up to 128 kbits/s, for a total of 512 kbits/s.
Steps to Set Up WOW! Newsgroup Access in Outlook Express 5.0 & 6.0 are as follows:
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click 'Tools'
3. Click on 'Accounts'

4. When the 'Internet Accounts' window opens, click 'Add'
5. Then click 'News'

6. Enter display name for news posts
7. Click 'Next'

8. Enter the Sigecom.net email address that will be used for sending newsposts
9. Click 'Next'

10. WOW!'s new server (NNTP) is "news.sigecom.net"
- NOTE: Remember, WOW!'s newsserver does not require log in information. You will be unable to login if this is checked. You must be logging in from a computer that is physically connected to WOW!'s network.
11. Click 'Next'

12. Click 'Finish' You are now ready to send newsgroup posts via Outlook Express
